These self portraits reflect inner work, by cracking myself open, shedding ego and preconceived notions of self through vulnerability. Using methodologies, including the painting process, to conduct consciously informed introspections in order to identify my judgements, biases and prejudices. Through this expression I outwardly begin to heal the stigmas associated with my race and status and create solidarity within and without in order to take ownership of my relationships as a partner, father and a fellow human being.
