lllumination
Oil on Canvas
30×40

llumination  is a portrait of my (then) 6 year old daughter, Kayla. She represents a light in our lives, as we struggled, as a couple to have a second child. This painting is also metaphorical referencing the light as an attraction, (in the insects case for a mate), symbolizing the instinct for reproduction. It also connotes the presence of magic and innocence where nothing is outside the realm of possibility.
