“Victory” references Caravaggio’s painting David and Goliath. The forms and violence of the artists beheading of Goliath are echoed here in the act of Mixed Martial Arts. As a martial artist and fan I wanted to represent the sport and depict it classically while paying homage to the Baroque Master.
